Great mushrooms
I have had many boxes of mushrooms but these are by far the best for growing and flavour. Very easy to grow with excellent growing instructions. I will only buy these mushrooms from this seller in the future.

Great flavour mushrooms
I had two full crops, then the third crop was just the one mushroom. These kits will always be the most expensive possible way to get mushrooms. But the flavour and texture were fabulous in comparison to shop-bought, plus all the fun of growing them yourself.

Amazing!
Wow! To be honest, we didn’t think much would happen when we used this kit, given some of the reviews we read, how wrong we were! Instructions were simple to follow, just need to take care to read everything carefully.These mushrooms grow so fast! Within 24hrs they had grown higher than the box!Can’t comment on the taste yet but looking forward to harvesting some in the next couple of days.Would recommend for anyone curious about how mushrooms grow. We have really enjoyed learning about it and seeing it all happen.

Really enjoying this product
The product has been more fun than practical for us. The delight, in this lockdown situation, of watching the mushrooms grow has been worth the expense. Every morning we check how many mushrooms are growing. The first crop consisted of 3 giant mushrooms. One covered the palm of my hand and was quite perfectly formed. We gathered as a family and my daughter was quite nervous to pick it. The second crop, a few days later, 5 more regular sized and now we have several 8-9 little mushrooms growing. Once they start to grow, they grow quickly. Our expectation was low and we did not purchase this kit expecting to replace the mushrooms we buy on a regular basis. However, we have been genuinely delighted with it.

Fantastic kit
Grown mushrooms before but never from a kit like this. Arrived quickly and followed instructions exactly. Only thing I have altered is the size of the gap at top of the bag. It needs to be smaller to keep the humidity right. Pic and vids were taking on the 2nd day couldn’t be happier so far.

Make room for the Mushrooms!
Easy instructions and considering I have black thumbs I have had a fab 1st crop. So much That I have made creamy garlic mushrooms out of them. Would love a box twice the size as white/chestnut shrooms are one of my favourite foods.

Bumper crop of mushrooms
Simple instructions, everything was included. The only thing I went out and bought was a water spray bottle. Mushrooms grew really quickly and were very tasty. Now hoping for our second crop to start growing.Great fun for children and adults to observe!

Loving my home grown delicious mushrooms!
I’m really happy with my mushroom kit. It’s on it’s third flush now and still growing well. First time growing mushrooms – picking just before use is just wonderful!I’m trying to minimise plastic in my life – local supermarkets only sell plastic packs of mushrooms. So although that’s perhaps 4 less boxes I’ve bought these sadly are in a solid plastic rather than cardboard outer. Please Merryhill change that and your product would be perfect! And/or sell refills so that I can reuse the pladtic mushroom box I now have!

Not the best
The mushrooms from this kit must be some of the most expensive i have ever eaten. I followed the instructions religiously, very excited when first mushrooms started to appear but after one good harvest, nothing. Save your money and buy from supermarket

Great amusement over the lock down period
I got off to a bad start, thought these just needed watering just once before I reread the instructions over a week later. Got a first batch of 4 mushies but the second batch is doing way better, can’t wait to harvest. Not sure how many batches I’ll get but excited to find out.

No green fingers for me
Didn’t work for me. Suppliers replaced free of charge but second one did not take either. Must be me. It was very warm when i tried thr 2nd one. Don’t be put off. Give it a go

Easy!
Had lots of great mushrooms off this kit. Daughter loved checking on them each morning and seeing the rapid progress. Even took the kit with us in the motorhome and continued cropping.

Plenty of mushrooms
I bought these as a gift for a friend and she has been delighted with how well they have cropped and their excellent flavour. She sent me a pic. An expensive box of dirt.
Having read the reviews, I was very dubious. Many warned that having followed the instructions perfectly, they were not rewarded with a single mushroom. I took the view that if Amazon were selling it, it must be good and that perhaps disappointed customers were not following instructions correctly. So I bought one. Idiot! After weeks of tender loving care, not one mushroom has grown, and I’m a bit annoyed at myself for having bought it. I’m more annoyed with Amazon. They, too, read the reviews and must know this particular item is dodgy. They should stop selling it. For £17 I could have bought tons of great mushrooms. Instead, I bought an expensive box of dirt. You’ve all been warned!

Best mushroom crop I’ve grown
These grew really well until i let them dry out – i had loads of mushrooms – kept them warm in an insulated bag (usually too cold house) but may also have inadvertently used a grow light on em ……. Still best package i’ve bought or used.

Fantastic flavour with minimal effort.
What a fantastic purchase. Started growing them 3 weeks ago and had enough this morning to make a gorgeous mushrooms on toast for two (leaving smaller ones in the box to keep growing).Once they start growing, they get noticably bigger in a day. In the attached photos, the time difference is only 3 days.The flavour is far better than any supermarket mushrooms. Highly recommended.

Mushrooms
Having grown many kits Successfully before this one was a bit disappointing and hardly gave any mushrooms. The ones which did grow were huge and tasty but only had 7 in total. It wasn’t over watered but was riddled in flies a week after the first two grew. May just have been unfortunate and would purchase to try again.

I’ve never grown mushrooms before. Just followed the instructions. I started the kit on the 9th and today (The 25th) myself and my husband ate one (It was big enough that one mushroom fed both of us). Gosh the taste! What a difference between fresh grown mushrooms to ones bought in the supermarket! I just can’t get over the difference. This kit is brilliant and will be buying these for people’s birthdays and Christmases and …well any reason I can think of really. Just utterly brilliant!

Wow! Very impressed
Bought this as a birthday gift for my partner as he gets a huge kick out growing foods. Was a bit sceptical after some on the reviews however we followed the instructions to the letter and boy not disappointed!! They grow rapidly once they start, beautiful firm mushrooms unlike squidgy ones you get in the supermarket. Would highly recommend.

Yes – they are actually growing!
Instead of using the lid – I covered with cling-film (with a few holes) as my kitchen is chilly – this way it kept in the moisture – without concern I was over-watering them. Amazed how much they grow each day once they start after two weeks. Will be buying again as presents for friends and family!

A good kit for a non gardener
When the mushrooms started to grow they were plentiful and enormous. For three weeks I had a great crop. Since then not one mushrooms has grown. Have followed instructions to the letter.So in all the box was a good idea but won’t buy again because the growing season was too short for the amount the kit cost

Waiting game
If your in hurry for mushrooms, get a carton at Tesco’s. This process takes time, although once the spores appear ,they put a spurt on. The mushrooms you get are meaty and fresher than you’re get in any supermarket. Wouldn’t say raw mushrooms in general have a very strong flavour. as these don’t. I got two good harvests of about 20 mushrooms of different sizes (big to medium), and just a couple the third time. Then the growing medium went in the compost. Would I bother again? probably not, hardly a cost productive way of procuring mushrooms. Was it worth it? Yes, I would recommend having a go at least once. Its also a fun conversation piece at parties, when you need something to fill an awkward silence. .

Fun to do
Fun to grow your own food. I had had 4 small crops already and it’s still going. The key is to not let it dry out, and pour a good amount of water in after you pick each crop. The instructions do mention this, bit hidden from the step by step. Expensive compared to how many you get.

Great product but too expensive
The mushrooms were fantastic and tasted wonderful.I followed the instructions to the letter, first crop was OK, then I was lucky to get only an odd one or two.So it works out at about £1.00 per mushroom.They are wonderful but not truffles.To buy again I would need a guarantee of better yield.

Easy fresh mushrooms
I now have four packs of these. Suspect one is getting to the end of its life but will certainly buy more in future. From experience give them plenty of spray. We have been so impressed and great anticipation when will they grow and how many makes it interesting. Once they start coming they can grow very fast. We’ve harvested them small and large. Very fleshy, fresh lovely mushrooms. If you are looking to get them cheaper than at the supermarket I doubt this is possible but the quality is fabulous, pick and straight in the pan.Each box has varied in amounts produced at first crop but tend to level out with second crop. Oh and I didnt start them all at once to ensure a steady supply.

Pop in fridge if not using straight away
Once you open the product box it tells you to store in the fridge if you are not planning to use straight away, I purchased this for a gift though so didn’t open to read the instructions and left it on the side. Thankfully it was gifted the following day so turned out fine.
